April High-end Beauty Wishlist

20140419-121354.jpg
It feels like forever since I’ve done a proper beauty wishlist and it’s a hefty one as usual. I’ve been watching far too many YouTube videos which always leaves me wanting everything, mainly high-end and out of my reach. I’ve already placed a naughty order with House Of Fraser including some bits and bobs for tomorrow’s night out which will be loaded up into a post for tomorrow.

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick
Ever since the youtuber Wayne Goss raved about this foundation, I’ve been a curious cat. It’s a full coverage foundation but without looking like you have much on. I do prefer a full coverage foundation but they’re harder to work with due to the thickness and their love to cake up on your face. This sounds like my guardian angel and I need to test it out somewhere asap.

YSL Multi-Action Concealer
I don’t know why I specifically want this concealer, but I adore the packaging and I haven’t really experimented much with YSL face products.

Tom a Ford Purifying Creme Cleanser
I’m pretty obsessed with Tom Ford, the few products I’ve tried from his collection have all been insanely good. I don’t usually lean towards brands that release skincare as an extra thing, but I think I trust him and I’d love to give this a go. The reviews for it are pretty positive.

Tom Ford Bronzer
Probably the most expensive bronzer on planet earth (cough £60 cough), which is ridiculous but it’s so big and luxurious looking. A girl can dream.

Tom Ford Foundation Brush
Of all the dreamy looking brushes Tom Ford has graced the beauty world with, I think I want this one the most.

Laura Mercier Pistachio Body Lotion
This scent always reminds me of Spring and I love the Laura Mercier Body Soufflés.

Chanel Le Weekend Skincare Collection
Want, need and a million times want. Ever since these were released they’ve been lusted after by me but they’re too pricey to even consider.

NARS Killing Me Softly Blush Palette
I love NARS blushers and they make some seriously gorgeous blush palettes. This one caught my eye.

All the Jo Malone
I don’t even care which one, I had a sniffing marathon in their store recently and they all smell incredible. I’d even close my eyes, grab one and take it to the counter with confidence.

Dior Blusher in Happy Cherry
This blusher looks perfect for Spring, I already have a good relationship with Dior blushers which makes this a firm staple on the Wishlist.

Happy Easter! x

A Ridiculously Large Beauty Wishlist

20140126-183505.jpg
I want so much stuff. I’m having one of those annoying phases where my shopping urges are being particularly alert, it doesn’t help that new collections are firing out all over the place either. Gathering everything that has caught my eye recently and accumulating them into a polyvore collage kind of helps scare these urges off, expensive is an understatement shall we say.

That NARS Eyeshadow
I can’t for the life of me find out what shade that pinky eyeshadow is with the pretty crystals and it saddens me. If anyone knows what it could be, help!. Or don’t, because then you’d save me spending.
Essie Nail Polish
I’m craving some glittery essie polishes as I’ve only tried their basic colour ones. There’s so much choice.
Soap & Glory Great Kisser Lipbalm
Heard about this many times and apparently it smells amazing, plus it actually hydrates your lips.
Flowerbomb Perfume
Been banging on about wanting this for ages, and I still haven’t taken the plunge.
The New NARS ‘NARSissist’ Eye Palette
I don’t need any more blinkin’ eye palettes, but this one looks so useful. Oh dear.
Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Collection Eye Quad
As always, I need something from the new Bobbi Brown collection. The eye quads look so gorgeous.
Revlon Black Cherry Lipstick
I’ve only just discovered this beauty, it looks like a lovely winter shade with it’s dark berry tones.
Marc Jacobs Shameless Bold Blush
I absolutely love the colour of this blush, I can imagine it would look so beautiful lightly dusted on the cheeks.
Clarins Brightening Exfoliating Toner
I’ve read that exfoliating toners are the best exfoliators for the skin and I do love me some Clarins.
Tom Ford Traceless foundation and foundation brush
I think Tom Ford is my favourite beauty brand at the moment, he’s expensive but everything I’ve tried from him has been out of this world. I bet his foundation would be amazing, and his brushes are drool-worthy.
Sleek Contour Palette
Don’t hurt me, I’ve never tried anything from sleek and this little kit looks the perfect start.
Estée Lauder Daywear
I love the advanced night repair and would love to try the daywear.
Real Techniques Blush Brush
I’m in desperate need of extending my real technique brush collection, and the blush brush is highly raved about.
Moroccanoil hair mask
Moroccanoil is my favourite hair brand by far and I need this hair mask by them.

Tom Ford Extreme Mascara : Raven

20131101-122836.jpg
I’m very proud to have this mascara in my collection, Tom Ford beauty products are somewhat of a complete luxury to me, not just because of the price but because I think his make-up is incredible.
I had this for my birthday, it’s the extreme mascara in ‘Raven’. Firstly though, I’m going to get the shocker over with, it retails at £34. Thirty-four pounds. In my opinion that’s ridiculous, mascaras are known for drying out and not lasting that long, but I tried a sample of this and fell in love with it. I personally would never purchase it myself because I’d never spend that much on a mascara but it’s one of those items that I’ll always put on a birthday or Christmas wish-list; it’s one of those perfect presents for those of you who wouldn’t buy it yourself. I’m just so, so glad I had it for my birthday.
The packaging is very sleek and classy, I’d expect nothing less from good old Mr.Ford. It comes in a glossy brown tube with the brand name elegantly placed in a gold band by the lid. The one thing that majorly confused me though was that the sticker saying the colour of the mascara ‘Raven’ is brown, it’s a black mascara but the sticker on the bottom is brown. Now, if the mascara name was ‘black’ then it would be more clear. It is definitely a black mascara though, raven is probably a giveaway but some of us are blonde.
The brush is big but I’m finding it hard to explain anything else about it, it’s very soft and does a good job at collecting all the lashes at once. I’ll go as far as saying it’s the best mascara I’ve ever tried, it really pulls up my lashes, makes them look twice as long and adds thickness without being clumpy. Excuse the mess on my ‘after’ lash photo, I appear to have managed to get mascara on my eye lids which is the one negative to a large brush. It’s a very wet mascara which will need a few minutes to dry completely, but this makes the black colour even more vivid.
I think it’s more of an evening mascara because with eye make-up, it looks very dramatic. I personally like dramatic lashes all times of the day though so I’ll wear it daily.
I’d say it’s worth it’s salt as a high-priced mascara and it’s the best I’ve ever tried but is a mascara ever worth £34?
Happy FRIDAY! Wahoo x

Top Autumn/Fall Lipsticks.

20130929-134712.jpg

20130929-135120.jpg
I’ve had a few emails asking me to do a post on my favourite lipsticks for the colder months, I’m still after a perfect vampy purple but besides that I pretty much have some good shades that are ‘in’ right now. I have a mix of high-end and drugstore/high-street lipsticks so there’ll be choices for everyone’s budget and they’re all similar colours but with different tones and brightness.

20130929-135146.jpg
The lipsticks below are in the same order as listed above.

20130929-135521.jpg

20130929-135525.jpg

MAC Rebel
A grungy raspberry pinky, purple which looks scary in the tube but actually comes out wearable. I wore this non-stop last winter.
MUA Shade 1
I’ve raved about this constantly recently because it’s £1 and has amazing pigmentation with a gorgeous deep red colour.
Estée Lauder Wild Violet
A pinky shade with hints of purple, it can look a bit more vampy if applied thickly.
MAC Chili
One of my all time favourites. A very deep, browny red which looks more like a ginger colour than true red. Perfect autumn red.
Tom Ford Wild Ginger
The most expensive lipstick, probably ever as I’ve mentioned before. It’s £36 but has a beautiful sheen to it, it’s moisturising and although it might look quite bright for autumn/fall, it’s a lovely ginger red that’s wearable all year round.
Rimmel Kate Moss 22
A lovely deep pinky red which I always choose for nights out, if you have blue eyes, this will make them pop.

So those are my favourite Autumn/Fall lipsticks! Xxx

Life’s Little Luxuries..

20130821-211801.jpg
There’s definitely more to life than beauty products and there’s certainly more to life than spending half your wages on expensive high-end make-up; however, having little snippets of luxury here and there in your cosmetic case will put a smile on your face if you’re anything like me. I tend to save up specially for a specific product I’ve been perving on for a considerable amount of time and when I finally get it and like how it works, then that little beauty will be placed very proudly in my collection. I adore my drugstore products and wouldn’t purchase a product just for the brand but those naughty purchases that I don’t need but love will always have a place in my heart. While there is nothing worse than a disappointing high-end item; especially here in the UK because we can’t really return it, when I find a high-end product I really love then it becomes an absolute staple for me.
These are my top 5 current luxury items that I didn’t need but oh, how I’m glad I bought them.
I’d love to know what stuff you splashed the cash on and found it completely worth it, so worth it that you’d have no guilt in repurchasing.

20130821-212559.jpg
These five items make me happy and we are all living happily together, guilt free.
Let me know yours so I can check them out 🙂

July Loves

20130725-170538.jpg
I’ve been so excited to do this months favourites, so many products have stood out to me in July. Some of them are products I’ve had for a while and knew I loved but have been heavily used this month.
Soap & Glory Fab Pore Mask
I loved this when I first bought it but then became a little lazy on the Skincare front and didn’t use face masks as often, I’ve dug it back out and I’ve been using it 3 times a week again as advised. It’s a great pore cleanser.
Sienna X Dark Glowing Tan
I do like to mix my fake tans up in the Summer but this one is gorgeous and I’ve been reaching for this one the most this year.
Garnier Moisture Match & La Roche Posay Effaclar H moisturiser.
I’ve been loving both of these this month, I use the Garnier one if I want a glowy look and then the La Roche one is a great moisturiser which also calms my skin from redness.
Philosophy Purity Wash
This face wash has made it into my favourites for another month, I love it! It’s so nice that I can just use this and it removes all my make-up AND cleanses my skin.
Molecules 01 Perfume
I love this weird fragrance, it smells very faint on the skin but everyone else can smell it strongly, when the wind blows I can really smell how gorgeous it is.
Nails Inc Chelsea Physic Garden & Belgravia Gardens
Love both of these colours for Summer, I have had the blue colour on my toes and the beige on my fingers practically all month.
Tom Ford Wild Ginger Lipstick
This lipstick has been mentioned a few times on my blog, it’s a very controversial lipstick due to the ridiculous price, however I’m growing to love it more and more, the colour is luxurious and beautiful. It’s the lip colour I’ve been wearing most this month by far and you all know I love my reddish shades.
Bobbi Brown Navy & Nude Palette
I did a full review on this earlier on in the month. I cannot stop using it, the top tray is just so perfect for day use and the glitter shade is unlike anything I’ve ever owned. Grab it now if you want it before it sells out as it is limited edition.
NARS Albatross Highlighter
I love this but usually reach for my MAC Soft & Gentle highlighter. This month I’ve been loving this on my cheekbones in the evenings.
Benefit Eye Bright
I’ve discovered this for the corners of my eye for a highlight. Obsessed.
Urban Decay Naked Skin
This is a BB cream by Urban Decay and I had a sample of it sent to me which I happily used up. It’s the best BB cream I’ve tried so far, very minimal coverage for Summer and I’m definitely going to be purchasing the full size.

Hope you enjoyed. If you guys have done a July favourites or plan to then send me your links because they’re my favourite posts to read.

Praise for the red lipstick

20130513-160500.jpg
I am a completely red lips obsessed, if I had to clear out all my lipsticks but keep my reds, I’d be perfectly content. I used to think red lipstick was for older women or it was old fashioned but when I tried out my first red, I never looked back. You do have to be fairly brave to bite the bullet and wear it out if it’s not something you’re used to and there are so many different tones of red that finding the right one for you can be overwhelming. I have a collection of both high-end and ‘drugstore’ red lipsticks in a range of tones so I thought I’d do a post on them with swatches and descriptions. I think I said ‘red’ enough times there, oops.

20130513-160929.jpg
As you can see I was a little bit cold whilst doing this, hello goosebumps!
From left to right
MAC Chili, MUA shade 13, 17 Hot Chilli, Rimmel Kate moss 12, Rimmel Kate Moss 22, Dior 999 Ara red, Rimmel Kate Moss 110, MAC Lady Danger, Tom Ford Wild Ginger.

20130513-161621.jpg
This is from Kate Moss’ matte lipstick range in the shade 110, it’s a bright coral red which makes teeth look whiter. I love this one for Summer because it’s brighter than your average red.

20130513-161856.jpg
I recently reviewed this one in full because I loved it, it’s super cheap and the pigmentation is amazing!

20130513-162043.jpg
This one by Kate Moss’ Lasting Finish range is one of my favourites, it glides on and comes out a really pretty raspberry red.

20130513-162317.jpg
This lipstick by Dior is the truest red I own. If you’re looking for the perfect true red, this one is amazing and you won’t need to top it up very often. Will suit absolutely any skin tones.

20130513-162536.jpg
Another lipstick by Rimmel Kate Moss in shade 12 which is a coral red with peachy undertones. Also perfect for the summer and a more subtle one if you’re not so brave.

20130513-162738.jpg
Chili by MAC is a very dark brownish red which I prefer in the winter. Although it isn’t bright, it’s very bold and you’d have to be a confident lipstick wearer to go for it.

20130513-163018.jpg
This lipstick is £1 and extremely impressive. It’s a nice pinky red and not drying at all considering it’s price tag, it’s actually really moisturising.

20130513-163249.jpg
Lady Danger is a very orange toned red which can be amped up very brightly or dabbed on to make a pretty natural looking stain which none of the other reds achieves. A definite summer favourite.

20130513-163520.jpg
I’ve blocked about this lipstick fully too so I used the blog photo. It’s the most expensive of the bunch but it is gorgeous, it’s a gingery flamed red if that makes any sense.

20130513-163644.jpg

So that’s my red lipsticks, I’d love to know your favourite reds, always up for testing out new ones even if I don’t need anymore! Xxx

Friday lipstick : Tom Ford ‘Wild Ginger’

.

20130329-181728.jpg
It’s Friday again and time for my Friday lipstick post, this week I am reviewing my only Tom Ford lipstick which is in ‘Wild Ginger’. Wild ginger is a very vivid orangey toned red, a little like MAC’s ‘morange’ but not as bright orange and a much more luxurious version – it should be seeing as this lipstick retails at £34.99. The price is crazy and a lot of people will be wondering how a lipstick can ever be worth this amount of money, I’m not going to tell you that you need it, because you don’t. It’s such a gorgeous colour on the lips, it’s extremely long wearing, moisturising and beautiful but at the end of the day, it still is only a lipstick and people won’t notice that your lips look ‘expensive’ with it on. That aside, if you’re looking for the perfect high-end Spring/Summer lipstick that won’t dry your lips out, or if you’re just looking for a change from classic red, then I really do recommend this. The packaging is stunning and the lipstick has TF engraved into the top which will make you kinda not want to use it at first. I would definitely consider more of the shades in this collection because they do look unique but I would also love it if good old Tom Ford put the prices of these babies down a little
